Your email protection service is now called Katy Mail Guard. It checks incoming mail for phishing, impersonation, malicious attachments and spam before it reaches your inbox. Most of your mail passes straight through. Here’s what you’ll notice and what to do.
Your quarantine report
When Katy Mail Guard holds messages for you, you’ll get a report from [email protected] with the subject Katy Mail Guard: N messages held for you@yourdomain. If nothing was held, no report is sent. For each message you can:
- Deliver: send it to your inbox
- Delete: remove it now
- Welcomelist: always deliver mail from that sender to you
- Blocklist: always block mail from that sender to you
Anything you leave is deleted automatically after 11 days. You don’t need to do anything with junk.
Expecting a message that didn’t arrive?
- Give it a few minutes. The first message from a sender we haven’t seen before can be held back briefly while we confirm it’s legitimate. This most often affects sign-in codes and confirmation emails. If a code is slow, wait five minutes before requesting a new one.
- Check your quarantine at https://mailguard.katycomputer.com/quarantine. There’s no password: choose Request Quarantine Link, enter your email address, and we’ll email you a link.
- Still missing? Some messages are blocked outright because they’re almost certainly dangerous, and those never reach the quarantine. Email [email protected] or call 314-316-9000 with the sender and roughly when it was sent, and we’ll find it.
Need a sender approved for your whole organization?
The Welcomelist button only applies to you. If a vendor, bank, donation platform or software service sends mail your whole team needs, let us know. We’ll approve it in a way that only trusts mail genuinely sent by that organization, so impostors using its name are still caught.
Other changes you may notice
- Mail to old or misspelled addresses now bounces right away, so senders find out immediately instead of their message disappearing.
- Watch for impersonation warnings. Messages from outside addresses that use the name of someone at your organization may be held for review. If a held message claims to be from a coworker, check with that person through a channel you already use before acting on it.
Stay alert
Katy Mail Guard links only ever go to mailguard.katycomputer.com. We will never ask for your email password. If a report or link looks wrong, forward it to [email protected] before clicking anything. The old quarantine portal and its links no longer work.
