Reset DNS to 8.8.8.8

When your local DNS server fails, reset DNS to 8.8.8.8 by following these steps:

1. Click Start |  KatyComputer.com | Network Connections

   

2. Double click on Ethernet if hard wired into network, Wi-Fi if connected using wireless:

   

3. Click on Properties box:

   

4. Highlight Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties:

   

5. Change Preferred DNS server to 8.8.8.8, then click OK | Close | Close:

   

   If you remain unable to access the Internet, select “Obtain DNS server address automatically”
